Whenever I read fiction, I get sucked into the world it creates, and sometimes I find it hard to leave when I'm done.

I have decided to post some of stories that have resulted from these extended journeys here on my online portfolio, not only because they deserve to do more than sit in a dark drawer, but so that I can display my abilities to handle licenced properties.

If you are here to read a story featuring a character you also love; I encourage you to e-mail the owner of the intellectual property, and tell them what you thought of my interptation (If you also BCC it to me that's a bonus). I'll try to provide an appropriate e-mail.

Ultimate Spider-Man "Hustled"

So far in the series B-list villians have been used to put some comedy/action into dialogue heavy issues. I think it would be fun to have a B-List Villian pull one over on a young Spider-Man.

The Phantom "Blood is Forever"

Opening to a storyline I came up with for The Ghost That Walks because Moonstone Books showed interest in my illustrator technique. The story started as just a funny idea but has really blossomed in my mind into a socially relevent Phantom story. I'll be sending them a story pitch as well when I have an oppertunity to draft it.

Oni Press Talent Search "Noir

Oni challeged pencilers to illustrate sample scripts posted on their website. The writer seemed more enthused by my effort than the editor...

Radioactive Panda "Fleas"

a three part story I did because it was really bothering me, how you could keep a werewolf and an Radioactive Panda under the same roof.

Fell

I have a lot to learn from the way Fell is made, and paced so I thought I'd imitate it.

Jay & Silent Bob "I'm not gay, it's you"

Kevin Smith ran a contest in Wizard magazine, which would publish the best two-page story featuring his characters. By the way, I love being a cartoonist, where else can you put a masturbation joke in your portfolio?

Ultimate Masters

I wrote the script for this story after reading Ultimates 2 Annual (before reading Ultimates 2 #8). Then drew the entire thing while commuting on the CTA (very quickly colored in photoshop for added clearity.

Ultimate Defenders

If your a mainstream comic fan you've seen fictional files before. I came up with this one after reading Ultimates 2 #6. This story is actually tied in with Ultimate Masters and if (not going to happen but if) Marvel were to ask me to write an Ultimate Masters miniseries it would include things foreshadowed here and also have the Ultimate Invaders too.

Ghost Rider

I never liked Ghost Rider much because he's always been writen like a super-hero in every issue I've read. So this is my attempt to experiment with a new technique I discovered and tell a super hero story with more of a ghost story feel.

Transformers: The Dark Ages

Story I pitched to Dreamwave, not knowing that they already had a project in the works with a similar name. This was the project proposal and two pages of script

Terror Inc.

This character is a buried treasure Marvel has yet to use to his full potential. He has the power to take other peoples body parts and attach them to himself- gaining their skills/abilities. Plus he is a complete creep! He's so awesome! This story is also another example of my sense of humor being too dry...

Thanos (script no art)

My favorite Marvel character. Originally a rip off of a DC villian, Thanos has evolved into his own unique personality thanks to creator Jim Starlin and writers such as Ron Marz. Some writers try to deteriorate him back to his nihilistic roots, but he works so much better as a sort of cosmic samuria.

Exiles #0 (script no art)

This one is probably not for the non-comics fans. If it were drawn out that would be different, but it isn't. This script came from new writers taking over the series and changing what I percieved as the 'formula' for the series. The uber-geek in me dreams of one day taking the book back and re-establish what made the book work (for me). By the way the new writers told some great stories, but eventually my anal-ness made me quit reading it (it's probably better not to ask).
